We will embark on a journey through four mountain ranges and admire 15 mountain lakes, many of which were formed thousands of years ago due to the melting of glaciers. The highest lake, located at an altitude of 2600 meters above sea level in the Pyrenees in France, reigns with snowy landscapes and almost no vegetation. At an altitude of 2400 meters in Switzerland, a unique dam lake awaits us, and the Carlit Lakes in the Pyrenees, situated at an altitude of over 2000 meters, will gift us with a tundra atmosphere with dwarf trees, firs, shrubs, and rocks covered with moss, juniper, and heather. The most picturesque can be called the lakes in the Bavarian Alps and the Black Forest, which are immersed in greenery and surrounded by mountain peaks. They are located at an altitude of 500 to 1000 meters above sea level and impress with their unique beauty. Throughout the journey, we will see local inhabitants: ducks, cormorants, terns, seagulls, grebes, and many species of fish. In addition to the views from the surrounding peaks and swimming across the lakes, an exciting dive into the underwater world awaits us, where we will admire algae, the rocky bottom, and fish — the tireless inhabitants of mountain water bodies.
